The past month!

So, I know it’s been over a month since I last blogged, but we have just been super busy!! In this last month we have been to a sweet tea festival, walked in the best buddies 5K, started going to our bible study, started our playgroup, started going to kindermusick, had a new girl friend (sweet little Norah Stout) enter the world, had his first hair cut, cousin Kerri came to visit and Mitchell had one major accident.
All of this, minus the accident, has been wonderful! Mitchell loves loves loves going to kindermusick. We sing songs and dance and interact with the other kinds in our class and Mitchell is in heaven each week when we go! Bible study has been great for me and Mitchell has adjusted well to an added 2 and half hour in the nursery each week. This week he didn’t even cry when I dropped him off, and I have been told he likes to play with the other kids and is a lot of fun to have in their class. That makes me feel good as a momma!! Kerri was here last week visiting us and Mitchell just loves her!! We had a great time laying around the house relaxing and watching Mitchell make a mess with all his toys…or as Matt likes to say rearranging his toys!




As for his major accident…he was playing at Cousin Wyatt’s house and he fell and hit his chin on their window ledge. At first it thought he knocked out a tooth because of all the blood, but later I discovered that he had bitten all the way through his tongue. Poor little guy had a swollen tongue and couldn’t eat much for a few days. But now he is doing great and the only sign of the accident is a small bruise on his chin. Matt and I know we will be lucky if Mitchell makes it to 2 without any stitches; he has turned into the master climber and seems to have no fear of anything anymore. Not sure I can do this mom of a boy thing anymore!!

My parents and grandparents came to visit us last week! Well, they came to see Mitchell and since we live in the same house as Mitchell they had to visit us too by default :). We had a great time and wish everyone could have stayed longer, it was a fast week! We did a lot of shopping and playing, Mitchell had a blast and he seems lonely with just Matt and I around! And I can't believe he turned 10 months this past week too. Where has this year gone??

Making a mess

Now that Mitchell is crawling he is into everything! In just a few short days he has figured out how to get anywhere and anything that he wants. Matt and I are in the process of baby proofing our house, gating off the stairs, locking up the cabinets and moving almost everything to higher ground. But on Friday we still hadn't done a lot of this, so Michell had free run of the house...or at least the family room. He took total advantage of this!! I will say it was enjoyable watching him work and he truly enjoyed himself while he was making this mess!!

I have had so many people tell me the past few weeks that our family needs a blog. So i have allowed the peer pressure to get to me and i am going to start one. No promises on how it goes, but I am going to try real hard to update it often and share our crazy life stories with you. Like this picture! This is from our road trip home from Minnesota. Matt took this picture just before he started feeding Mitchell his dinner. And thanks to my dad, Mitchell's Poppy, he now knows how to blow raspberries with his tounge out. So you can only guess what happened when Matt feed him dinner that night.....it was all over the backseat of the car...and Matt!
